The Happy Valley Tango dildo

Good silicone doubles are expensive. Because of that, I can’t give an exhaustive comparison of the Tango with all other options, but in my experience the Tango is the toy I’d recommend to couples interested in getting a double dildo.

How the Tango measures up

The reason is the Tango’s good design and versatility. It’s not a beginner dildo – it’s 6-3/4” length and 1-3/8” diameter (getter's side) put it in the midsize class – but I wouldn’t recommend a double as a beginner’s dildo. Get a less-expensive single-ended small silicone dildo or toy and wait on the double. They’re expensive enough that you’re better off waiting for a larger size that will satisfy you for a long time.

The Tango is strong enough to support its weight when held at the tip, but soft enough to bend a bit for comfort during use.

The Tango is medium density silicone, so it's kind of stiff, but most of the double dildo breed are (the only exception I’ve found is the Vixen Nexus series, which is made of a very soft silicone). It's a good choice, making penetration and use easy. The Tango's saddle flexes to allow movement and variation between the two ends, but the getter’s dildo doesn’t bend much. In practice this means that you’ll probably want to do some experimenting in order to find the position that allows the Tango to work best with the anatomy of everyone involved. Once you get it into position the Tango can be specifically directed up against various sensitive internal parts, though, such as the G or P spot.

The Tango has a slight suggestion of a head, enough for a bit of stimulation and a hint that you're reaching the end of the dildo, but not enough to make insertion difficult

The Tango has a semi-realistic design on the getter’s end, with a slight suggestion of a head. The dildo has a fairly gentle taper from the ¾” tip up to 1-1/4” at the widest part of the head an inch and a half up the shaft. After that, it’s a slow taper to the full 1-1/2” diameter over the rest of the dildo’s 6-1/4” useable length. Apart from the under 1/8” ridge at the base of the head, the Tango is completely smooth – a good choice for most harness dildos. There’s a gentle curve from tip to base as well, a feature that I find both helps insertion and increases the stimulation.

Since a major selling point of double dildos is the fact that they have two ends, it wouldn’t do for this review to concentrate entirely on the getter’s end of the Tango. It would be unfair to the Tango, too, because some of the best parts of the Tango are on the giver’s end.

The Tango was designed as a strapless double dildo. What this means in practice is that the dildo will stay in when used vaginally if the wearer has strong PC muscles and doesn’t orgasm too hard. Most couples will be better off going ahead and putting the Tango in a harness for most use, just to give a bit of added security. Strapless is fun to try out, though, so definitely give it a whirl. Even with a harness the benefits of the strapless design show through. The Tango hugs the wearer’s body well, and gives that feeling of control that only a double dildo gives. The giver’s pony is well designed for most uses and positions. It’s big enough to be filling, but not too big, and it has a lip that slips above the pelvic bones to help hold it in place when used without a harness. The twin lobes of the pony rock back and forth during use, stimulating the giver’s G-spot as well as the other nerves on the front side of the vagina.

The Tango's saddle is designed to cradle the vulva.

There are different ways that the saddle can be formed in a double. The Vixen Nexus series of dildos have a butt joint approach, with the two dildos attached back to back. The Feeldoe has the getter’s end mounted below the pony. The Tango sports a scooped out area that cradles the giver’s genitals, a fine design. The bridge piece is narrow and deep, providing sufficient strength to support the dildo while still remaining comfortable for the woman. It broadens out as it transitions into the getter’s dildo, forming a triple-ridged clit pad. The clit pad is angled so the giver can grind up against it during use, and to increase stimulation there’s a pocket for a vibrator about half an inch away. The included vibrator is a silver bullet type, which produces reasonable vibrations, but the Tango could really benefit from an aftermarket replacement that had more power and a longer battery life than the watch battery powered bullet.

The diagonally mounted vibrator not only stimulates the giver, it also goes down the getter’s shaft. While weak, it’s still noticeable at the very tip. As a “getter”, I have an affection for vibrating doubles. Not only do the vibrations stimulate my bottom, they also stimulate my partner. A horny, orgasming, pumping partner is not only psychologically hot, but I physically benefit from the increased exuberance since the other end of the dildo she’s thrusting with wild abandon is inside me.

An alternate way to use a strapless double is for someone to hold the pony in their anus, allowing for double penetration or other varied stimulation. The Tango works pretty well used this way, although the usable length of the getter’s dildo is shortened. The reduced lip on the back of the pony means that the giver needs to make a conscientious effort to hold it in with their anus (else it will work its way out), but it’s definitely possible for either a man or a woman hold the Tango anally and use it to penetrate a partner – you’ll probably need to use your hands to help insert the getter’s end, though.

All of these features come together to produce a very good dildo. I have no hesitation in recommending the Tango to couples interested in a double dildo. It’s not completely perfect all of the time – there are times when I wish it were bigger, or softer, or had some bumps on it – but it’s a very good general-purpose double that I find myself coming back to (and cumming on) over and over. When you add in the price (in the mid $80s), it becomes an excellent value as well – especially considering that this dildo will last for the rest of your life given reasonable care.

Double dildos have attracted their own set of jargon, so I’m including a glossary:

Clit pad: An area on a double dildo that bears against the labia and clitoris and stimulates them.

Getter’s end: the (usually) longer side of a double dildo, intended for the receiving partner.

Giver’s end: the end of a double dildo that is held in the vagina of the “penetrating” partner. Often shorter or more bulbous than the getter’s end.

Pony: another name for the giver’s end on a double dildo, usually reserved for the more bulbous type present on a strapless double.

Saddle: The area on a double dildo that fits near the labia and links the giver’s and getter’s ends.

Wow, I'm surprised that you thought the Nexus double dildos were made of "very soft silicone" -- I had a Nexus and the toy seemed VERY firm to me. Either we have different perceptions/experiences here or that was a misprint.

Thanks for the review, though. The Tango is next on my list of toys to get. My problem with the Nexus was that the angle wasn't suitable for me -- it would fall out, even with a harness. Looks like the Tango won't have that problem. :-)

I used the term "very soft silicone" in comparison to other single-density silicone toys I've used, including ones from Tantus, Fun Factory, Ophoria, and Happy Valley. Of all the silicones I've tested, the Vixen is noticeably softer. It's only a bit "squishier", but when you look at how much force is needed to bend the toy around a certain radius the density difference becomes more apparent.

A softer silicone can sometimes be easier for people to use anally, since it will tend to track the rectum more and be more comfortable if your sizes, positions, or style doesn't let things line up perfectly. The downside is that it can be harder to insert initially.

As you get more in tune with your body and "advanced" anally the difference is minimized, but sometimes the "squishiness" is fun to play around with. I'd really like to try one of the dual-density VixSkin or O2 toys, but they're expensive.

I am thinking of using this as a secant cock for double penetration.
By Putting the pussy end into my ass and the cock coming forward bellow my nut sack.
Then the cock portion going forward as a lower cock to insert into her ass or cunt depending on my and her position. Whether it be Doggie style or missionary.

The Tango's "flat back" design makes it a bit harder to retain the bulb ("pony end") anally because it will tend to work out - a problem shared with other "strapless doubles" that have the bulge on only one side. If you're looking for a toy to hold anally for double penetration then the Tantus Feeldoe is probably your best bet.
