Tantus A-Bomb – the world needs more of this type of nuclear power

Sometimes there just isn't a substitute for size. Size takes up space in the rectum, size presses up against sensitive internal anatomy, size gives your anus that stretched feeling. When I want size, my favorite big plug (over 2” in diameter) is hands down the Tantus A-Bomb.

As is usual with Tantus products the workmanship is impeccable. Looking at the plug you can guess where the mold halves must have joined together, but there is no trace of a seam. Cast of 100% silicone, this plug is immune to almost everything you can throw at it, with the possible exception of cheap silicone lubes. It's easily cleaned and completely sterilizable with either heat or chemicals, and the curvy shape screams “sexy”, especially in red.

The A-Bomb isn't the best “quickie” plug, as insertion and removal can take a while, but it's great for mid to long-term wear. The long neck and 1-inch difference between the neck diameter and the bulge work together to make the A-Bomb a very secure, easy to retain plug. The base is the best base of any of the Tantus plugs. The rounded, oval shape nestles comfortably between the cheeks without poking and stays discreetly out of the way. It's easy to grab, and strong enough to handle a plug this big.

I must confess that the A-bomb wasn't my favorite plug when I first got it. Instead, it was a mix of frustration, pain, and promise. Frustration because I couldn't get it in, pain because I was trying to force it in, and promise because even then I strongly suspected that the 'bomb would be very pleasurable once I got it in.

After that day it was a couple weeks before I got the A-Bomb inside me, and a couple months before I got it inside me comfortably. It takes time to learn how to relax your anus that much, but it's worth it. One thing that helped me greatly in the quest to “go nuclear” was pairing the A-bomb with another plug: the Tantus Ringo. The Ringo is about as large as the A-bomb, but it has a longer taper and wider neck so it good for warm-up. It also has a neat feature that helps relax your internal sphincter – you can read a full review here. Once I learned relaxation the pleasures of the Bomb were no longer tempered by discomfort.

Since this is a big toy, lubrication is essential. Choose something thick, so you don't have a problem with the squeegee effect as the plug travels through your anus. Maximus would be good if you're not sensitive to parabens, but if you are things get more difficult. Usually, I wind up using an oil-based lube with this plug, but I'd love to hear if anyone has found a good, thick, hypoallergenic water-based lube.

Onward to the feelings! If you haven't read about them yet, see this post.

There's a big feeling of fullness when you're on the A-Bomb, but how can there not be with 4-1/2 inches of insertable length and a bulge that hovers between 2-1/4 and 2-1/2 inches in diameter? That same big bulge is located nice and high (2-1/2” from the base) for good prostate stimulation that's inescapable if you have a prostate. If not, there are plenty of other things up inside to be pleasantly jostled around by the A-Bomb.

Stretch is nicely balanced - once you get this plug in your anus will be pleasantly stretched around the A-Bomb's 1-1/4” neck. It's wide enough so you get the “held open” feeling, but not too much of it. Another neat feature of the neck is its shape. Rather than being round it's oval, so twisting the plug after insertion feels really good. A favorite activity of mine when I'm “Bombed” is pulling the plug out enough to twist the base perpendicular to my gluteal cleft (or buttcrack :) ), then contracting and relaxing my anus until the plug's twisted around and found its way back to full insertion.

The A-bomb gives what I'll call “intermittent sphincter bump”. What this means is that there isn't a ridge near the neck to give constant sphincter bump, but when the A-bomb is in the rectum it tends to move out a bit on its own, bringing the base of the bulge in contact with the internal sphincter. Presto: instant sphincter bump, until your anus tightens a bit and sends the A-bomb back inside. This “automatic thrusting” feels great, and is one reason I love to use my 'Bomb.

The “auto-thrusting” highlights one of the most unique features of the A-bomb that I've noticed. Most big plugs don't give you much wiggle, but the A-bomb gives great feelings from internal movement. I wish I could tell you exactly what caused it, but the combination of the sensations and the security of the A-bomb makes it my favorite big plug for long term wear.

Removal of the A-Bomb needs to be done with the same care as insertion. Fortunately Tantus put the same gradual taper on the “coming out” side as they did on the “going in” side. The best way I've found to get de-Bombed is to gently pull the plug out until you're getting a pretty strong sphincter bump sensation. Hold it there for a while and your body will take care of the rest. Once it starts coming out keep a little pressure on it, but not much while relaxing. It'll come out on it's own.

The big downside to the A-bomb is time. It still takes ~15 minutes to insert, and during insertion it's difficult to find a way to play with your partner. I find that the only practical one I've found is “68”, me on top bent over “doggy style” giving oral while my partner works the plug in. Make sure you and your partner know that your genitals are off-limits during insertion, since genital stimulation tends to tighten up the anus. Even after more than a year the hard part is still when the bulge is between the sphincters – almost in but not quite, and it's hard to focus and get the internal sphincter to relax that extra bit.

I love my A-Bomb, it's definitely a five-star toy. While the warm-up time required means that this isn't an everyday toy, it's always up near the top of the toybox.
